A secret group inside the Greek finance ministry led by then finance minister Yanis Varoufakis hacked into Greece’s government computer system to secretly develop a “Plan B” to exit eurozone, attempting to create an option to transition to the drachma with the “flick of a button,” according to a private recording released Monday.

In the 23 minute conversation, Varoufakis said they had worked to create an electronic payment transfer method by using the tax system, but did so without the tax minister’s knowledge because this person was “fully controlled by the Troika.”
