Russian hackers successfully launched a “sophisticated cyberattack” against the Pentagon, NBC News is reporting.
The Pentagon's Joint Staff unclassified email system was taken off line for nearly two weeks starting around July 25, NBC is reporting, cutting unnamed U.S. officials. The “sophisticated cyber intrusion” took place sometime near July 25 and is reported to have impacted nearly 4,000 military and civilian personnel who work at the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
