Treasurer of Brazil’s ruling party under investigation, but no charges
Reuters is reporting that former Petrobras executive Pedro Barusco is accusing the treasurer of the country’s ruling Workers’ Party, João Vaccari Neto, of diverting up to $200 million to Workers’ Party accounts for a decade from 2003 to 2013. Barusco cooperated with investigators to avoid being arrested, the Reuters report noted, as investigators have served 4 arrest warrants and seeks 18 other people for questioning, although they have yet to confirm Barusco’s claims.
