Perhaps the most common reaction to John Lefevre’s book “Straight to Hell” comes from former equity derivatives trader Matt Levine, now a Bloomberg columnist. Lefevre (more commonly known as GSElevator) was on Bloomberg Television talking inside baseball with Levine, Erik Schatzker and Matt Miller, addressing topics in his tell-all, pillow-talk misadventures in Asia working for a major bank. Levine, as noted in a widely read column he wrote on the topic, thinks the book paints an inaccurate picture of big bank culture.
