Dark clouds gathering on the horizon: SocGen

Economists and market watchers generally agree that the global economy is currently in a late-expansion phase, but there's quite a bit of disagreement about just how long it will be before the next recession hits. In their latest Global Economic Outlook entitled "Storm Clouds Gathering," Societe Generale analysts said they continue to expect the next recession in late 2019 to early 2020.

However, a team of Goldman Sachs analysts led by Allison Nathan said in their recent "Top of Mind" report entitled "Fiscal Folly" that they don't see the next recession until "at least 2021." Still others, such as Kingston University Professor Steve Keen, see the next recession coming in 2020.
